How to Use EFT

Begin by rubbing on the sore spot (see diagram below) and thinking of the problem or issue while stating the 'setup statement':

"Even though (insert problem) I deeply and completely accept myself"

or

"Even though ( insert problem) I choose to (insert what you want instead)"

For example: 'Even though I have this fear of public speaking, I choose to feel calm and confident' ; ' Even though I split up from my boyfriend, I deeply and completely accept myself'; 'Even though it all seems hopeless, I accept myself and choose to feel hopeful'

Repeat the 'setup statement' three times, while rubbing the sore spot and using whatever words describe your problem. Then gently tap on each of the points about 7 times each , beginning at the eyebrow and working your way down the body to under the arm, while remaining focused on your problem. It doesn't matter which side of the body you tap, or whether you change sides half way through.

Continue through all of the aspects of the problem that are troubling you. To use the technique most effectively, it may be necessary to consult a trained professional or attend a workshop.
